The Theo chocolate bar is just delicious milk chocolate and sugar with nothing bad – no seed oils, no soy or sunflower lecithin, no chemicals. Enjoy it! There’s also a coconut filled chocolate bar without seed oils, a hazelnut butter one, and also caramel filled chocolates with no seed oils. They are all great.

These candy bars have no soy lecithin or other emulsifiers

Soy lecithin is an emulsifier, which means that the chocolate manufacturers find it useful in the process of making the product. However, it is most likely not very healthy, so we always try to avoid all emulsifiers in our recommendations. Chocolate bars without soy lecithin can be hard to find, but these ones all fit that requirement, in addition to having no seed oils or additives.

Should I worry about the sugar in my chocolate bar?

We believe that you don’t need to worry about cane sugar too much. If you want to enjoy a treat like a chocolate bar, then you’re better off getting it with sugar and not worrying. We believe that the seed oil and the chemicals is far worse than the sugar. Dr. Ray Peat, PhD believed that cane sugar was even healthy, contrary to popular belief. Of course many candy bars are made with high fructose corn syrup instead of sugar, and that’s probably bad. But good organic cane sugar is probably just fine in moderation.

However, if you do still want to avoid cane sugar, the Hu chocolate bar is made with coconut sugar instead.

  1. Theo’s is going out of business, we need to add more options! Trader Joe’s has one option (ONLY ONE), but I’m looking for an alternative since they used to have 2 options and the uganda sourced chocolate was removed from shelves
